A poem a day for 2013 - day 99 - poem 2 - Bangin'

I think it is a problem
When old folks act like their day
Was better than any other day
And that young folks have
Somehow missed the goodness
All the goodness of life
Like it's all gone
And there ain't nothin' good
Left to get
Like old folks can't learn any
Thing new from all this
Young fresh energy right
Here in their old faces
I think it is the same problem
When young folks
Act like their day
Is better than any other day
And what good are all
These old folks walking
Around in the way
Taking up all this space like
They do
Taking up all the room
In the middle of the bus
Like young folks can't learn
From all this history and story
And wrinkles and gray
Why can't we exchange
Lessons and love
Like baseball cards and sex
Why can't we give freely
Like French fries and chips
At a party
Why we gotta be all
Clickish on some age shit anyway
If age is just a number?
