vision

i have this simple dream / how i want to live my life / now after fifty / i want to see this country on the ground / see it's nooks by train / taking pictures and blogging the whole way / i want to go to new orleans / buy some canvases when i arrive / have an art show at someone's home / read stories and poems from my books / sell product / get on a train / go to north carolina / atlanta / florida / dallas / austin / and do the same thing / fly home for a month / create more art / start a new book / have some readings here / go up to oakland / utah / seattle / portland / art / books / make my way to chicago / milwaukee / same thing / same thing / and i will do this / setting myself up for it / i have a comfortable spot / easy enough for my son to handle on his own / right now i have clients here / and a class / and work that calls me to be home / but i'm working on it / you watch / you look out for me / 2021 / i will be giving one on one poetry workshops by phone / while i'm on a train / or in some cheap hotel / gonna see this place close up / for a year at least / maybe ghana / maybe paris after that / you remember i said it / you keep the light on for me / because i'm coming
