Sleep but no rest

It's 11:40pm and I'm at a restaurant near the airport waiting to pick up a friend. The woman in the car next to me just put her phone down and leaned back in her seat like she will be here for the night. Maybe she will maybe she won't. But she prompted me to say a prayer for those sleeping in cars and on the streets. Many of them work and have children. I know this can't be easy. Imagine having to find somewhere to park to go to sleep. Imagine police knocking on your window in the middle of the night. Imagine having to choose gas over food. Imagine having to go to work in the morning. Having to do homework with your children. Having to sleep with one eye open. Many people live like this and they look like you and me. They are you and me. You don't know what someone is going through. Where or if someone slept last night. You don't know how much of their day is clouded with wondering where they will sleep tonight or tomorrow. Let's be kind y'all. You don't know. You just don't know.
