Dear poets

During this time when our favorite open mic spots are closed, let's keep writing. Let's go in. Let's find, remember, develop our voices. Let's study other writers. Let's create new work. Let's stretch ourselves. Let's rework old work. Writing is rewriting. Where can we add a dope metaphor? Where are we saying too much? Where can we add to the story? What are we hiding? Why are we hiding? What don't we want our readers to know about us? Why? This is a good time to edit. To be quiet. To get ideas out. To supersize ourselves. To ask questions. To evaluate our beliefs. Where are we stuck? What thoughts did we inherit that do not serve us? This is the time for prayer. However we pray. This is the time for us to reconnect ourselves to ourselves. Later loves.
